Rashtriya SEWA Bharati

Report from SEWA Bharathi, India

Recently, under the auspicious of Rashtriya SEWA Bharati there was an all India conference from 4th to 7th September, 2004 at Calicut, Kerala to facilitate efficient pursuance of working of SEWA Bharati, India has been divided into following eleven administrative units, which will work independently in their respective areas. SEWA Bharati (Madhya Bharat) Bhopal covering Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh provinces, are one of the above 11 units.

As indicated above SEWA Bharati (Madhya Bharat) Bhopal covers Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and presently runs 4937 projects of various types. Description of the categories is briefly given below:-

1. Tribal Hostel: - Girls 15, Boys 10, and Handicapped 2.

2. Matruchhaya :- 4, Namely at Ujjain, Jabalpur, Bilaspur, Bhopal.

3. Computer Training Center: - 17

4. Sanskar Rath: - 2, With Video Projectors.

5. Car Driving Training Centres: - 3

6. Street Children Centres: - 2

7. Old Age Home: - 1

8. Mobile Medical Vans: - 8 (Khandwa, Balaghat, Ambikapur, Chirmiri (Dist- Koriya), Mandla, Shivpuri, Ujjain, Petlawat (Dist-Indore)

9. Ambulance: - 2

10. Annapurna Center: - Distribution food for poor patients, helpers in district hospitals (Guna, Bilaspur, Mandla)

11. Primary Schools (upto 5th Class): - 12

18. Apart from the above in Bhopal itself there are about 360 projects, which include Balwadis, Sanskar Kendras, Coaching Centers, Sewing Centers, Jhola Libraries, Self-Help-Groups etc. which out number even those of big city like Delhi.


Special Achievements: - There are 28 students in the Bhopal Tribal Hostel among them one is pursuing MBBS, one BAMS, two B.E., three Computer Engineering and 2 students are doing B.Sc. Agriculture and one paramedical course.


With the financial help from SEWA Bharati Bhopal after passing out 12
th from SEWA Dham Delhi, 2 students have completed B.E. and are serving in private firm, one student after completing his studies is preparing for IAS. 1 MBBS and 1 have done I.T.I.


In India, different units of SEWA Bharati is running a total of 12000 Ekal Vidyalayas, out of which SEWA Bharati Bhopal alone credited with running 3500 in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.


It needs no mention that whatever success we have been able to achieve, it is wholly due to your financial, moral and physical support. We are confident that it will always coming in future also our service activities are ever increasing and proportionately our financial needs also.
