West is paying for wastage - Sitaram Kedilaya
“If you wish to stay fit, move to the villages. People in the urban areas are in the grip of consumerism, which attracts the villagers too. That is why both the rural and urban people are afflicted with many diseases. Instead of following our rich traditions we are blindly following the West. It will take us nowhere,” said Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh of RSS Shri Sitaram Kedilaya. He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of Arogya Bharati national convention held in Bhopal on July 5. National president of Arogya Bharati Dr Raghvendra Kulkarni, Health Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Anup Mishra, Minister of State for Forest Shri Rajendra Shukla and Shri Raghunandan Deshpande, MP, also addressed the delegates. More than 100 doctors belonging to various streams of medicine provided information to the delegates about health activities being undertaken in their respective areas.
Shri Raghunandan Sharma pointed out it was expected that the country would pay proper attention to Ayurveda after Independence, but nothing like that happened even after 60 years of Independence. Dr Madhusudan Deshpande pointed out that the Arogya Bharati was going to start an extensive rural contact drive across the country. This drive would start from birth anniversary of Charaka. A similar campaign would begin from the birth anniversary of Dhanvantari to educate the people about good health. He said the Arogya Bharati has adopted a village, Ratibar, near Bhopal and work is on making it a model village.
