Rotary's platinum dreams: a polio-free nation: Sevabharathi schools

BANGALORE: The Rotary Club of Bangalore is celebrating its platinum jubilee year, completing a long history of public service and contribution to
society. The celebrations were kicked off on Monday by Rotary International president-elect Ray Klinginsmith.

As part of the programme, new initiatives have been planned and the earlier ones are being given an extra push. "We dream of a polio-free country in three years. We will focus on states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh now," Rotary officials said.

The Seva Bharathi School at Nagadevanahalli, which the club brought under its ambit in 1984, got funds for constructing another building with 10 classrooms.

The Rotary-TTK blood bank was given more machinery on the occasion. The `Platinum Club Book' containing details of the club's activities and its members was released.
