Rohini and Ruhika at the Kalawati Saran Hospital in Delhi. Over the past fortnight, bonnie twins Rohini and Ruchika have become the cynosure of all eyes at the Kalawati Saran Maternity and Child Hospital.Their baby sounds and bawls invite cuddles throughout the day. In fact, the hospital staff wonders at the coldness of the unidentified parents who dumped the cute infants on the chilly night of November 28 - just because they are girls. The shocking case of the abandoned one-and-a-half-month-old twin sisters is not an isolated one. In December, the Delhi Police found at least six girl children left on the streets in the national Capital. FIRs relating to abandoned children were registered in 14 cases in 2010. The four branches of the Delhi government's Child Welfare Committee (CWC) as well as NGOs in the Capital received over 60-odd such cases this year, with more than 90 per cent children b…

Sevabharathi Erode on an Eye Donation SpreeSevabharathi’s Erode unit has been putting a lot of energy into its eye-donation Seva. And the results are naturally, highly visible In just August and September 2010, our Erode chapter has been able to convince and inspire three families to donate the eyes of their departed relative. That translates into life-long vision for six corneally blind patients.
“Motivating the kith and kin of a departed person is the key factor in making eye donation a reality. The motivator should have the conviction to take up this highly sentimental effort” reads a testimonial we received from Sankara Eye Centre run by Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust at Coimbatore, who were the recepients of one of those three pairs of eyes that Sevabharatih facilitated.
We thank and salute all the family members of Smt. Lakshmi Devi, Sri. Srichand S. Parwani and Sri. A. Muthusamy of Erode district for their invaluable contribution.

Bhatke Vimukta Vikas Pratishthan - Brouchure

Registration No. Maharashtra 3457/92 Solapur ( Maharashtra State)
Imagine setting up a small shop with your life’s savings and being suddenly thrown into a police lock up on mere suspicion by civil society. The only option you would probably think of would be to vanish from the scene and lose everything. This is what happens routinely to our lesser fortunate brethren like Paradhis and other nomadic tribeswho have been branded for life as thieves and dacoits, in spite of their sterling contribution to our society, through out history, with their artisan and fighting skills. These are the most backward of the backward people, living a life of penury and fear that we members of ‘free’ society cannot even imagine. With their regular source of earning from forest produce becoming harder by the day and talents like singing, street plays, acrobatics etc. also dying a slow death; the only option is to educate them, imbibe their children with good values or ‘samskaras’ and train them for the new…

Source: TOI
In times of a petty political strife hogging headlines and the very concept of Indian under strain, a great number of dedicated souls are trying to help daffodils - symbolizing friendship - flower in their own way. Naturally, the media's award-winner sirens won't be interested in it. There are people who think they can bring about a change in society through bullets and take up guns killing innocent Indians. But there are many others who choose the placid path of silent devotion and service, helping daffodils of joy flower.
