KSHETRA Sewa Pramukh Shri Ram Reddy inaugurated a Skype software for visually challenged persons in Hyderabad on July 10. He appreciated the software launched by Manonethra, a rehabilitation organisation affiliated to SAKSHAM.

Anybody who wants to help the visually challenged students through computer can help them using Skype software. The software reads out material to the visually challenged persons.

Skype is the easiest way in present days to teach the children suffering with blindness or low vision on online. Job Access with Speech (JAWS) is another software used by the children with blindness or low vision. It reads what content is typed by the keyboard. In other word it is a screen reader.

Nine years back, Shri S.S. Narayanan, a retired Assistant Executive Engineer of Madras Port Trust, found that Rs. 40,000 had accrued in his father Sankaranarayanan's savings bank account, being the monthly Railway pension over the years. As all the sons and daughters of retired Station Master Sankaranaraynan were leading contended lives, and were looking after their parents Sankaranaraynan – Rukmini well, the father advised Narayanan, to use the amount in such away to benefit the needy in the society. Within a week, Narayanan and his siblings together added Rs 10,000 to it and donated the amount to Madhava Seva Samiti, which identified meritorious school going children of daily wage earners in Chetput, Chennai (Tamilnadu, Bharat); for the last eight years, the interest proceeds of the amount is awarded to nine such children in memory of Sankaranaraynan – Rukmini at functions organisd by Seva Bharati. RSS condemns Savanur incident : Seva bharathi

HUBLI: Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS, Hubli) has condemned the apathy of officials which forced the members of the Bhangi community to stage a bizarre protest at Savanur in Haveri district recently.

In a press release, regional RSS leader Shridar Nadiger said the incident, wherein the members of Bhangi community poured the faeces on them, "has made everybody hang their heads in the shame".

The government should wake up now and eradicate the inhuman system of carrying human excreta, he said. Nadiger urged the government to provide each member of Bhangi community of Savanur with a job in City Municipal Corporation. The government should also help their children pursue education, he added.

Seva Bharati Trust run by RSS volunteers is ready to provide necessary help to the family members of Bhangi community, he said.

Mumbai, Jul 19: The first meeting of the silver jubilee committee of Seva Bharati was held at the banquet hall of Silver Inn Hotel, Marol – Maroshi Road, Andheri (East), on Sunday July 18.

Seva Bharati silver jubilee committee president B Vivek Shetty presided over the programme and inaugurated their website on the same occasion.

“The silver jubilee celebrations of the organization will be grandly conducted with a cultural extravaganza by the artists of the three units—Yaksha Bharati, Nratya Bharati and Kavya Bharati—that form Seva Bharati.  Veterans of arts, poetry, and dance will be felicitated on the same occasion”, said Jaya N Shetty, president, Seva Bharati.

Madhusudan Rao explained about Nratyotsav while Damodar Shetty Iruvail talked about Yakshotsav.

The metro-based Devadiga Sangh former president Dharmapal U Devadiga was chosen for the National Seva Bharati Award.

Mangalore : A new beginning has been made at ‘Roman and Catherine School for the Blind’ with the setting up of a full-fledged School for the Blind Children of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and surrounding Districts on was inaugurated at Kapikad, Bejai on July 12, Monday.
The school has been a dream of Dr. U. V. Shenoy and “Seva Bharathi” Trust for the last two decades to establish a School for the Blind. The relentless efforts of Ms. Carmine Lobo and Seva Bharathi must be appreciated.
The organization like Seva Bharathi under the guidance of Dr. U. V. Shenoy has already been engaged itself in a School for the mentally challenged by name “Chetana Child Development Centre” at V. T. Road, Mangalore.

NGO organises camp: Seva Bharathi

UDHAMPUR: ‘Peace’ a volunteer Non Governmental organisation (NGO) in collaboration with Patanjali Yog Peeth organised a five days Yog awareness camp in the GHSS Panchari in Udhampur.
In this regard an inaugural function was organised by the Peace wherein Principal of the school K.L Gupta was Chief Guest. The function was inaugurated with traditional Havan-Yagya at Sankari Devta Sthan. On the occasion Arvind ji of  Seva Bharti  delivered a lecture  related to the Yog and spirituality. In this camp workers of the Peeth Surekha Sharma, Purankalik Sadasya, Sudesh Jamwal will impart awareness among the participants to promote  the mission of Bharat Swabhiman Andolan of Baba Ram Dev ji.  President ‘Peace’ extended gratitude to the dedicated volunteers for their cooperation to materialise the dream of Baba Ram Dev Ji.

Dream 2010 was a great success. Held on 26th of June at Seva Bharti Institute, the event saw the advent of around members. Seva Bharti is a nation wide NGO contributing towards the development of skills amongst the economically challenged masses of the society. It imparts computer knowledge, beautician course, spoken English classes, stitching and tailoring classes at nominal and minimal rates. Sapney contributed in its own way to the institution by distributing crayons, activity books, pencil boxes etc. to the small ones. Printer/scanner/photocopier, computer equipments like- mouse, keyboards and computer stationary like paper packs and blank Cd’s were donated towards the computer section of the institute. Threads, handkerchiefs, pens,registers were other contributions.
