Sewa bharati: Saksham - Empowering differently-abled women

SAMADRISHTI, Kshamata Vikas Evam Anusandhan Mandal (SAKSHAM) has started many projects exclusively for women empowerment during the last a few years. One among them is Virangula Kendra in Akola, Maharashtra. It may look like a recreation centre, but it is basically a project for complete empowerment of differently-abled women. The special emphasis is on self-reliance. The women are imparted training of various kinds of domestic industries, rangoli, handicraft, making paper envelops, bags, yogasan, meditation, legal aid, etc. Women at this centre regularly manufacture many kinds of products including spices, dry chatani, potato chips, papad, paper bags, etc. It is purchased by local grocery store owners, medical stores, etc. in bulk.

Sewa Bharati felicitates talented economically deprived students

UTTARAKHAND unit of Sewa Bharati felicitated talented and studious students of Sewa Bastis on October 10. Chief guest on the occasion was Shri Prem Budakoti. According to Sewa Bharati district president Shri Jai Narayan Agarwal, 50 students from classes I to VIII including 3 students who scored above 90 per cent, 16 students who scored above 80 per cent, 18 students who scored above70 per cent and 13 students who scored above 60 per cent, were honoured.

Umesh Mishra, who won the first prize by scoring above 90 per cent is a student of Engineering from IIT Roorkie and is an orphan. He got a scholarship from Sewa Bharati. Second award went to Himani Verma, who scored 92 per cent while Aditi was third with 90 per cent. He said Sewa Bharati has 22 centres all over the State where economically deprived students are provided free coaching. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Prem Budakoti said the Sewa Bharati always focused on well-being of others.

Importance of water conservation emphasised: Sewa bharathi

Stressing on the importance of water conservation, Gopal Chettiyar, divisional head of Seva Bharathi Trust has said that every household should get sensitised on the need for water conservation as the country would face severe water crisis in coming years.
He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop on water conservation jointly organised by the Seva Bharathi Trust and Janajagruthi Trust here on Sunday. Every individual should understand the importance of conservation of water. It must be a education across households in the country. The man was responsible for the degradation of environment, depleting area of forests and shrinking of number of lakes and rivers and fertile land. As the humanity worldwide would suffer from the brunt of its impact, the country will see a bigger crisis, he said. He regretted that the precious water was being neglected in the society.

The leftover debris and the mud filled houses were still crying to tell their sad story. Trails of destruction were laying everywhere. AFTER one and a half month the nature wreaked havoc in Leh killing more than 200 people, the office bearers of Hindu Emergency Aid and Relief Team (HEART) again visited the region reeling under the reconstruction stage. HEART volunteers have already been working in Leh and its surrounding areas since August 6. The huge quantity of relief material had already been dispatched there by the HEART but the highest body wanted to review and survey the operation personally.

Bagalakot-Karnataka: 18 October 2010 It was a moment of satisfaction and joy for the villagers of Sabbalahunasi of Badami taluk, district Bagalakot, Karnataka, when Seva Baharati, a leading social service organization dedicated newly built houses to the flood affected people.
On monday, October 18, 2010 in a simple ceremony former RSS Sarasanghachalak Sri K. S. Sudarshan ji handed over 77 newly built houses to flood affected people. Seva Bharati has initiated complete rehabilitation of 13 villages. The newly constructed well built 77 homes are with better facilities for a village family. Work of construction of houses is going on in other 12 villages. Many volunteers are working for the cause; even villagers have also offered their shoulders. Sri. Sudarshan ji symbolically handed over the keys of all these newly built homes.

PORT Blair, Andamans, unit of Sewa Bharati celebrated Sree Ganesh Chaturthi form September 11 to 13. The festival was celebrated with great devotion. Special bhoj was served on September 11 and 12. On September 11 about 250 devotees had darshan of Ganpati and over 150 devotees had the bhoj. On September 12 about 400 devotees had darshan while over 200 had prasad. On September 12, the children of Bal Smaskar Kendra of the Sewa Bharati participated in a speech addressing and Ganesh bhusa competition. Dr Prem Kishad was the chief guest. After the competition, all the children had prasad. On September 13, the visarjan of Ganpati was done.

Mumbai, Oct 5: Seva Bharati organized a Yakshagana show as part of its silver jubilee celebrations at Bunts Bhavan auditorium, Kurla (East), here on Sunday October 3.

Pune’s well-known social worker and veteran entrepreneur Kushal S Hegde inaugurated the programme.

Silver jubilee celebration committee honorary president B Vivek Shetty presided over the programme.

Bunts Sangh president Aikala Harish Shetty was the chief guest.

Entrepreneurs Sadashiv S Shetty and Suresh S Shetty Bellary, Silver Inn Hotel Group managing director Jayaram N Shetty, and veteran hotelier ATZ Narayan Shetty were the guests of honour on the occasion.

Sewa bharathi: Autism Centre Opens at Chetana Child Devpt Centre

Mangalore, Oct 4: Autism Centre was inaugurated at the Chetana Child Development Centre here.
The centre was donated by Malpe Vittaldas Kini, Mumbai in memory of his wife late Sunanda Vittaldas Kini. This is the first of its kind in the twin districts where comprehensive rehabilitation is available under one roof for autistic children.
Raina Rodrigues, a psychologist and autism therapist spoke on autism and services offered by newly opened autism centre namely autism screening, functional assessment, curriculum planning, therapeutic intervention, sensory integration therapy and parental guidance and training.
Chief guest Ln J Krishnand Rao expressed his views on the occasion and appreciated the initiative taken by the Seva Bharathi Mangalore Trust.
Autistic children and their parents along with trustees of Seva Bharathi were present.
