'67 houses will be built for flood victims in 121 days' TNN, Apr 28, 2010, 10.20pm IST

BAGALKOT: The construction of of 67 houses for the flood-affected people of Papathanal village in Hungund taluk will be completed within 121 days, said Seva Bharati state president M V Sundaramurty.

After performing pooja at the site allotted by the government for the construction of houses under Asare Scheme at Papathanal village in Hungund taluk on Tuesday, Sundaramurty said, Seva Bharati has already commenced the construction work of houses at Inam Budihal village in Hungund taluk, Kotnalli, Sabbalahunasi, and Alur SP villages in Badami taluk.

At Patahanal village, 67 houses will be constructed with each house measuring 287 square feet, at a cost of Rs 1.25 lakh, he said.

RSS district chief C S Patil praised the work done by Seva Bharati in the flood-affected villages. Hungund MLA Doddanagouda Patil spoke on the occasion. BJP state secretary Mohan Hosamani, ZP member Viresh Undodi, Nagaraj Hadli were present.

Govt committed to providing best medical services

Humanitarian service is a service which connects people together. Its importance increases further in the medical field since these services provide physical as well as mental relief to the patients and their caretakers. These views were expressed by Minister of state for Public Health, Family Welfare, Medical Education, AYUSH and Technical Education Mahendra Hardia at different functions. At the first function, which was held to mark International Red Cross Day, He launched ambulance service for 11 districts. At the second function organised by Medical Education Employees Union at Hamidia Hospital, the minister unveiled 15 coolers.
Hardia said that service to patients is the biggest humanitarian service. The government is committed to the welfare of patients but the relief to them increases manifold when people also join hands in this work.
