Administration has bought 3.5 acres of private land
50 houses have been built on 30 x 50 plots each
READY:Houses to be given away at Kadwad in Karwar taluk.
The houses were built for the victims of landslips in Kadwad village in which 19 people were killed. The houses will be handed over by Sri Vamanashrama Swamiji of Haldipur.
They will be inaugurated by Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri district in-charge Minister. Anant Kumar Hegde, Member of Parliament, will preside over the meeting. Suresh (Bhaiyaji) Joshi of Sahakaryavaha (General Secretary), RSS, will be the chief guest.
Mr. Krishnayya said that the district administration had bought about 3.5 acres of private land and 50 houses had been built on 30 x 50 plots each.
The foundation stone was laid on November 13 last year.
Gopal of Seva Bharati Trust said that basic amenities such as water, road, electricity, street lamps, toilets and drainage were provided in the colony.
He said storm-water drains were built at a cost of Rs. 17 lakh to prevent water from entering the rehabilitation centre.
He said that Seva Bharati Trust has built 1,680 houses in six districts.
The houses built under Asare scheme at Sabbalahunasi village in Bagalkot district had been handed over to the beneficiaries. Kadwad will be the second village, he said.
K.H. Narasimhamurthy, Additional Deputy Commissioner, said that Hubli Electricity Supply Company has provided electricity.
The Kadwad Village Panchayat is providing water supply. Road and drainage was provided by the engineering section of the zilla panchayat.
