An oath to help the tribal people for availing the benefit of various welfare schemes:Vikas Bharti, Jharkhand’s
Government initiates various schemes for the welfare of economically backward people, but lags behind in the effective implementation of these schemes in the remote regions of the country that are cut off from the mainstream of social development. As a result, government is always accused of neglecting the development issue of tribal masses. Vikas Bharti, Jharkhand therefore took an oath to help the tribal people for availing the benefit of various welfare schemes formulated by the government.
One of the most important strategies that Vikas Bharti adopts is collaborative interventions with government. The organization has been constantly working with government departments and lending its assistance in effective implementation of various projects and programmes.
Through Vistaar Project, Vikas Bharti is providing technical assistance to Government of Jharkhand for improving the health and nutrition status of mother, children under 2 years and adolescent girls in partnership with CINI . Under this project, Vikas Bharti is working in 6 districts of Jharkhand, they are: Koderma, Godda, Sahibganj, Chatra, Latehar and Garhwa. The primary issues under focus in these districts are-maternal nutrition, under-two child nutrition, adolescent anaemia and delaying age of marriage.
Vikas Bharti is trying to improve the performance of the associated service providers at the Anganwadi, Health Sub-Centre and PHC levels. Vistaar Project's strategy is to address the above mentioned issues concerning under-two children, pregnant women, lactating mothers and adolescent girls through improvement in the home-based care and practices of the communities. This is to be done through the government’s prevailing system and functionaries by improving the inter-personal communication and counseling skills of these workers. Besides that, Vikas Bharti is providing technical assistance to the Government of Jharkhand in system strengthening through supportive supervision, monitoring, sharing of evidences and inter-sectoral convergence.
