Mangalore: Under its CSR Policy, KIOCL ( formerly Kudremukh Iron Ore Co, Ltd) has sponsored a school bus and has donated it to the Chethana Child Development Centre, run by Seva Bharathi, Mangalore.
The Centre is situated on V T Road in the city and has been extending education to the physically and mentally challenged children.
The school bus, a 26-seater Tata Marco Polo, was sponsored by KIOCL at a cost of Rs 7.50 lakh. The vehicle was flagged off by KIOCL MD K Ranganath at the school premises on Feb 22. The keys were handed over to Trust founder Vasudeva Shenoy.
KIOCL director K Subba Rao, general manager N Vidyananda and other senior officers from the firm were present. School managing trustee Vinod Shenoy, trustees Dr U V Shenoy and Dr Sabitha and principal Soorya Prasad were present on behalf of the school.
