At a time when people are too busy to lend a helping hand to even those bleeding to death on roads, Unnikrishnan, a native of Valanchery, is an exception.
This ambulance driver provided free services to the participants and officials at the venue of the State Arts  Festival that concluded here on Sunday.
And that is not for the first time, Unni offers his services during the Thrissur Pooram and also in Mini Pamba near Kuttippuram at the time of Sabarimala pilgrimage.
Unnikrishnan, 43, a bachelor, has been driving the Sevabharathi ambulance for the past two years and has decided to dedicate his life to serve the people.
Speaking about his services to the society, there is one thing that the art lovers in the state should know about Unni. He saved the life of ace comedian Jagathy Sreekumar by shifting him to the hospital from the accident spot in time.

Sevabharathi “Anantha Kripa” A Shelter Home for patients

Anantha Kripa is a project undertaken by Sevabharathi at Medical College, Trivandrum. The main objective of the project is to provide accommodation to the patients and the bystanders of Medical College, Regional Cancer Centre, Sree Chithra Medical Centre for free of cost. There is need for a patient shelter in the medical college area where a large number of under privileged citizens seek treatment at Regional Cancer Center, Sree Chitra Medical centre, SAT Hospital and Medical College Hospital. Considering the demand for a shelter Home, Seva Bharathi has under taken a project to construct a building “Ananthakripa” keeping in mind the special need and care that patients require during their treatment days. Many beneficiaries like cancer patients who undergo Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy will have to stay for a month or two to complete their treatment. SewaBharati Rajastan distributes #SwineFlu preventive medicine on war footing

Sewa Bharati has taken up the distribution of Swineflu preventive medicine both Ayurvedic and Homeo on a largescale in the state. In Jaipur as of feb 2015 the medicine doses were given to 10,000 people. Apart from the distribution of medicine awareness campaign both written and oral carried out across the state.

A good initiative #SamarthBharat : SewaVibhag Showcasing Sewa Projects to Public

Karnataka Daxin RSS unit organized a unique event called ‘Samartha Bharat’. This two day seminar held at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru was attended by 3852 people including 800 women. In that seminar the RSS showcased 45 different social service projects including village development, water harvesting, volunteerism, women’s problems, educational projects etc. They were told to choose from such projects to work for. The overall planning of this program can be described as ‘Theme for Team’ and ‘Team for Theme’.

#Sewabharati Alwar organises community Mass marriage for the poor

Sewabharati Alwar organised a community Mass marriage programme for the poor and deserving on 20th Feb 2015 to 12 communities. In all 17 couples benefitted from the initiative. The programme was organised in association with Sri Ram-Janaki Community mass marriages organisation.

This is the first time such an initiative was organised in Alawar. The local people from across rajastan appreciated the initiative and called for Social harmony and more such initiatives.

Similar Mass community weddings for the poor were organised in association with  Sri Ram-Janaki Community mass marriages organisation at Bharatpur where 16 couples from 8 communities got married in a grand ceremony.


Seva Bharati Sucess Story: Missing Man in Bahrain Reunited with Family in India

28/11/2014 Thiruvananthapuram: Here is a success story from Seva Bharati, which has been instrumental in uniting Radhakrishnan, who went missing in Bahrain, with his family. Radhakrishnan’s homecoming was made possible by Samskriti, the Gulf Unit of Seva Bharati.

52 year old Radhakrishnan, a native from Ochira had set foot in Bahrain 10 years ago. He however, went missing since the last four years, while he was in Bahrain. Complaints were registered in the local police station of Ochira by his wife Leelamma, which yielded minimal results. This was how Seva Bharati came into the picture, with swayamsevaks in Seva Bharati getting in touch with their counterparts in Bahrain. The president of Samskriti Prakash Kumar and general secretary Sateesh Kumar were alerted, which resulted in a four year long investigation.

JAMMU, Feb 21: To celebrate 62nd Birthday Dr Karan, ISM, who popularly is known as of 'flag man' (always seen with tricolor), the Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) organised a Sahitik Goshti here today at Sewa Bharti, Ambphalla, Jammu.
The celebrations were presided over by Smt Raksha Sharma w/o Renowned Dogri Poet, Late Sh Yash Sharma while S K Jain and Jia Lal Abrol attended the occasion as Guests of Honour. The Host organization conferred a memento to Dr Karan on his 62nd Birthday.
