Students of sevabharathi trust govt school build robot explorers

Sreenivasa Murthy It was a day full of treasure hunts and diving for pearls at the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum as robots built by students demonstrated their abilities for the regional round of the Indian Robot Olympiad which concluded on Sunday. Regional championship The event saw participation of 100 children divided into 30 teams. Students had come from places including Mysuru and Ooty to take part in the regional championship for a chance to compete in the national and international Olympiads, which will be held in the coming months. “The theme today was pearl diving and treasure hunting. Students were expected to build robots which would be able to pick up pearls from a seabed-like surface,” said Christopher Dhas, associate head of Edutech, one of the organisers of the regional Olympiad.
