Who We Are

Keshava Seva Samithi is a Charitable Trust, started in 1999.
Our special focus is on bringing a ray of hope into the lives of Slum dwelling families with particular stress on Children. We conduct classrooms for children under 13 and provide scholarship to those over 13, even upto Engineering and other graduation. We serve in fields of Education, Cultural nurturing, Health, and Women’s Empowerment areas. Our Organization is supported mostly through voluntary efforts with support from philanthropists & donors.

What We Do

Vidhya Vahini (Sponsor a Child)
We are focussing on school going children who are above the age of 13
Aim is to encourage these children to continue studying
This helps curtail child marriages & child labor
Scholarship programs are conducted
78 students provided free education in 7 years

4 children have graduated and are employed
1 child is pursuing her 5th semester in computer science engineering
12 children are pursuing their under graduation in BA ,B Com & BCA respectively

Vidya Bhagya (Sponsor a Classroom)

Our main Focus is on school going children who below the age of 14
Provide free tuitions after-school hours
There are 112 tuition centers in operation
Empowered over 30,000 children with free writing material, note books, geometry boxes over the last 10 years
Successful in providing free tuitions to over 30,000 children so far
Mobile Library
Target age group 11 – 15 years
Benefits over 750 children annually
25 operational centers
Books ranging from moral science, GK, self help books on languages etc
Summer Camps
Conducted 75camps involving around 6500 children
Areas covered - banking system, general hygiene, effects of global warming, moral science

- Health

Arogya Bhagya
This is a scheme conducted for the entire well being of the slums and undertaken for all inhabitants irrespective of age, sex, caste and creed. The programs conducted under this scheme are:

Free/ subsidized health camps which include eye, dental, childcare, gynecology, general hygiene and general surgery
Conducting free dispensaries in slums
Pranayama and yoga activities
Free eye surgeries and spectacle distribution to the needy

53 Eye camps have been conducted and benefited 10525 people in last 10 years
832 free cataract surgeries conducted and 2016 spectacles have been provided free of cost
24100 people provided with free preventive medication for Chikungunya & dengue
10 Women’s health awareness camps conducted and has benefitted 634 women
10 surgical camps conducted and 2030 free surgeries conducted for various ailments
54 camps for children have been held where free health checkup facilities have been provided to around 11,036 children primarily for malnutrition, skin diseases and ENT
6912 children have been provided free medication
28 Dental camps have been conducted benefiting 4800 people
5 workshops on home-made medicine have been conducted – 446 people participated
Make a Donation

Swavalambana (Women's Empowerment)
Focuses mainly on women from the weaker section of society seeking self reliance
KSS helps set up self help groups which have proved very successful in slums
They are taught screen printing, tailoring, computers, typing, beautician courses, candle making, etc
Orphaned women are given vocational training and jobs as supervisors outside and within the KSS programs
Women have been given free sewing machines, push carts for vegetable vending, pushcarts with coal Irons
Tailoring classes are being conducted as 6 months courses (205 women have benefited from this scheme)
Free tailoring machines have been given to 36 women in various slums
10 SHS groups catering to almost 200 women in various slums
Push Carts and Vegetable carts have been given to 28 women
