Sevabharathi Telangana: Techies take part in run to save the girl child

HYDERABAD: Around 5,000 Information Technology employees and their families took part in two (10k and 5k) runs from Gachibowli stadium for saving the girl child on Sunday. The runs were organised by Seva Bharathi.

More than 1,000 girls, who are enrolled in Kishori Vikas centres, also took part in the run. The 'Run for Girl Child' was flagged off by Vinod Agrawal, and several other well-known personalities.

"It was lot of fun to run the entire distance. I had no plans to participate, but once I heard its for a good cause, I decided to get up early and take part," said Mohsin Abbbas, a techie. 

Many volunteers, who championed the cause of girl child education, planned and executed the event with companies like Capgemini, Genpact and several other IT companies supporting the cause. Sevabharathi Telangana Run for girl child education has 5,000 techies & corporates

Run for education of girl childSeva Bharathi, a voluntary organisation, is organising a 5K and 10K run with the theme ‘run for a cause — educate a girl child’ for corporates and families on January 22. The run will start from the Gachibowli stadium at 7 a.m. Corporates with the highest number of participants, women, and top three performers will be awarded trophies. All the proceeds will go towards the cause. Seva Bharathi sponsors 100 Kishori Vikas providing education, health, and vocational skills to about 25 girls in each centre. The participation fee is ₹1,000 (family), ₹500 (individual), and ₹100 (student).For online registrations, log onto www.sevabharathi.org, mail sevabharathi.run@gmail, or call 7032770157/8091546826. Spot registrations will be allowed on January 20 and 21 from noon to 6 p.m. at the stadium, gate no.1, a press release said.

गुना| कलेक्टर राजेश जैन ने सेवाभारती द्वारा संचालित वनवासी कन्या छात्रावास, बलवंत नगर पहुंचे। उनके साथ अजयपाल सिंह वन संरक्षक भी थे। श्री जैन ने छात्राओं से मुलाकात कर उनकी दिनचर्या की जानकारी ली। उन्होंने छात्राओं को गुरु द्रोण की कहानी सुनाकर बताया कि हमें अर्जुन की तरह अपने लक्ष्य पर ध्यान रखना चाहिए। 

उन्होंने कहा कि आज का समय काम्पीटिशन का समय है। हमें प्रतिस्पर्धा में बने रहने के लिए प्रयास करते रहना चाहिए। इसके लिए अखबार पढ़ना चाहिए एवं समाचार सुनना चाहिए। वन संरक्षक श्री सिंह ने छात्राओं को शिक्षा के साथ-साथ अपनी परंपराओं और संस्कारों का भी ध्यान रखना चाहिए। संस्कारों के बिना जीवन किसी काम का नहीं हैं। इस अवसर पर दिनेश शर्मा, डॉ. शिव शंकर शर्मा, राजाराम शिंदे, सतीश शर्मा, र|ेश शुक्ला, राजेश झा, पूनम शुक्ला से चर्चा कर सेवा भारती छात्रावास की विभिन्न गतिविधियों की जानकारी लेकर छात्रावास एवं छात्राओं का पूर्ण सहयोग करने का आश्वासन दिया।
